I love this photo from CSnyder on deviantart. It looks real but at the same time you can be pretty sure it's not. He has other photos worth checking out but to me this one embodies the perfect balance between the real and surreal.

My absolute favourite artist at this year's TOAE was Lorraine Roy. She makes these incredibly intricate, textural woven wall hangings. From a distance I thought they were paintings, which would have been impressive enough, but up close you can see all the detail in them. These are some of her works, but you can't really see much from the digital versions. Luckily, she is represented by several galleries in Toronto.

The Toronto Outdoor Art Exhibition is this weekend - let's go! I've never been before but I did apply for a job with them, which I obviously didn't get a call for.

Room 13

I just discovered Room 13, a kid's art program at Harbourfront that's "run by kids". What's cool about it is that instead of just asking for donations, you can buy the artwork they create, but it'll cost you 50 bucks a pop.

I really like this mug I bought at Arts on King today for $20. It's pretty, and somewhat textural. I'm fairly certain the artist is Chris Hierlihy.
